Dedrogyl is Calcifediol, the first & only active form of vitamin D in the market, do not pass by the first path of metabolism (liver) , Dedrogyl is 4-5 times more potent than conventional vitamin D in raising serum 25OHD, indication: For Rickets in infants & children, Osteomalacia in adults, vitamin D deficiency, calcium disorders during prolonged use of coticosteroids or anti-convulsants & during pregnancy, the usual average dose is 1-15 drops once daily depends on the case & severity

-       Dedrogyl is Calcifediol, the first and only active form of Vitamin D in the market

-       Dedrogyl 15mg/100ml oral drops solution presented in 10 ml amber glass

-       1ml solution correspondence to 30 drops

-       1 drop contains 5 µg Calcifediol anhydrous or (25-OH Cholicalcifediol)

 

Therapeutic indications:

-          Children & infants:

1.    Rickets ( bone disease associated with Vitamin D deficiency)

2.    Calcium disorders during prolonged treatment of corticosteroids or anti-convulsants as well as kidney failure

-          Adults:

1.    Osteomalacia (bone disease associated with vitamin D deficiency)

2.    Vitamin D deficiency

3.    Calcium disorders during prolonged treatment of corticosteroids or anti-convulsants as well as kidney failure

-          Vitamin D deficiency in pregnancy & lactating mothers

-          Infants in wintertime

Contraindications

-          History of allergy to any of other ingredients

-          Hypercalcemia (abnormal high level of calcium in the blood)

-          Hypercalciuria (abnormal high level of calcium in urine)

-          Calcium lithiasis (renal calculus)

Side Effect:

Like all medicine, Dedrogyl can cause side effect although not everybody gets them, these side effects are due to overdose which they are headache, fatigue, loss of appetite, stunted growth, nausea, and vomiting, increased excretion of urine, abnormal thirst & high blood pressure.

Route of administration:

Dedrogyl is oral drops which can be diluted in milk, water or fruit Juice

Dosage & administration:

Dedrogyl is taken once daily, the dose varies as per the case severity
